Anyone not getting the swine flu vaccine?

Just wondering if anyone has decided not to get it?

I am not getting it after I spoke to midwife last week. She said that she isn't getting it (for her own reasons and didn't go into it). She also said that I amnot the first of her pregnant ladies to decide not to get it.

I work from home (no commute!) and my boss said that when I go to meetings in London I can take a taxi instead of the tube. I also won't be near any young children so I don't think I am high risk.

If the number of cases begins to rise dramatically I will review this again but was just wondering if anyone felt the same?

taking a taxi in llondon could make you higher risk than you think hun, just imagine all the people who have been in there before you - sorry

i am not having it, i reckon i live in a pretty low risk area and am off work now anyway so not coming into close contact with 100's of people a week anymore

my midwife never sadi boo baout it, she is fab but when i asked her about it she just said she never really knew any more than was in 'the leaflet' which i had been sent with my invite for it - i guess looking back this is prob the truth and anything the docs/midwives/nurses tell you is just personal opinion as noone really knows

That is true about the taxi! I won't be travelling at peak times so up until now I have been happy to take the tube to be honest.

I was happy to read that the cases have gone down quite a bit in the last week as well.

i was offered it a couple of weeks ago and turned it down. my midwife said that if she were pregnant she wouldn't have it.

i don't see that many people but i do go shopping in town quite a lot. i always carry my hand gel and use it all the time.

my best friend had swine flu last week and i'd been with her a couple of days before but i still don't think i'm at much of a risk.

Which hand gel do you use Flowertot and where did you get it?

I want to get some as well. It is good to hear of other people not getting it as I was beginning to feel like I was the only one.

I was dead against having it untill I spoke to my GP. He said he would strongly recommend me having it because theres going to be a massive outbreak of it January/Feb same time as my baby boy is due and us pregnant ladies have a higher risk of ending up in intensive care with pregnancy complications if we catch it. So I had mine last night and am glad I did now. But do what is best for you.. you know your body better than anyone else xx

I'm not having it, I've been exposed to the bug by a confirmed 5 people and not managed to catch it (did get a chest infection though) I've 2 weeks left in work, at a high school, and am not worried about it as there seem to be no new cases in school, if there is large scale outbreak I'll just leave earlier.

I wasn't aware that they were expecting a huge outbreak of it in Jan/Feb. I read that the peak for it was going to be the end of November. It's terrible that we are being given such conflicting info on this.
