I'm not having it.

Does it even pass over to the baby out of interest?

I am at home now, my sister in law currently has it! And I shared a car with her last weekend BUT since at present it isn't airborne and since my immune system hasn't had any knocks recently I'm just hoping that i'll get by without it and with lots of hand washing when I am out and about.

I think everyone looks at their own circumstances and decides. Lets hope we all make the right decisions for us.

I'm not getting it either, just washing my hands maniacally and, if I suspect that I have been close to somebody with cold/flue, I load up on some garlic, which, in my experience, is best remedy against virus. Have to mention, though, that I do not go in public transport much, mostly walk to work and there also don't see too many people. So far, knock on the wood, been fine

Im not getting it but if im honest I am really worried about getting swine flu.

Its a no win situation IMO, I dont want to get in just in case it does pose a risk to the baby but at the same time im very worried about actually getting the flu as I know its much more risky once you reach 3rd tri xx

Im not having it whilst pregnant. We have no idea how my body would cope with it (said body is pretty crap LOL) and with threatened early labour and so many other complications AND that Im not at home all the time on bedrest it just seemed sensible to wait for the time being.
I am likely to have it after recovering from birth though...I am still in a high risk group then but I am not making any final decisions til I get to it. Thats with having "a strain" of flu right now....which is interesting as I had the normal flu vaccination so I am actually wondering if what I have now is swine flu afterall.....I supose it could be but I was at hospital all yesterday and they didnt seem particularly bothered??!!

I'm not getting it, how do they know there's going to be a massive outbreak of it in January? Yeah fair enough more people will be in public places with it being Christmas and being at each other's houses and such but it's just the media scaremongering AGAIN!

I teach and have probably been in contact with more bugs than most over the last few months, but I've got 5 weeks ish left to go and finish work next week so I've got gel handwash in every bag, coat pocket and in my car, a mountain of tissues in my bag!

There's probably more chance of getting run over by a bus, being in a car crash or something far worse happening over getting swine flu.

PMA ladies like we had at the beginning!

What hand gel would you recommend? And where did you get it?

I need to get some to carry around with me.
