Painful introduction to the Third trimester

Hi all, I just made it to the third trimester and i was so excited until last night.

I was in so much pain last night....I had what i can describe as braxton hicks pushing upwards and very hard combined with stretching pains all night....it was quite regular, it'll start then stop and went on all night...at some point i thought i was in labour but had to tell myself not to be silly.

does it make sense to say my 'fundal height was rising' cos thats what it felt like? but i've never had braxton hicks so high combined with pains....i'm really scared that since i've started my third trimester so badly then what would the rest of it be like

Congrats on getting to third tri

I don't really know what to say about the pains, sorry. I had some painful cramps just a few days before I was in my 3rd tri and they stopped after a couple of days so it might just be stretching. If you're worried speak to your MW.

Hope you feel better soon love.

xxx

Thank you, i have experienced stretching pains but not when its combined with my stomach being hard and realy bulging out on the top half, so far it has calmed down a bit but if i have a repeat of last nights pain then i'll contact my midwife.

Congrats on making it to the 3rd tri!

I would let your MW or doc know, and if it starts happening again time the contractions to see how far apart they are and how many you are having an hour. I was having a lot too and my doc told me to call if I had more than six an hour for 2 hours straight. Every doc or MW is different though so check with yours. And drink LOTS of water, this helps keep the BH contractions to a minimum. Feel Better!!
