Nursery decorations?

I still haven't decorated the walls in the baby's room.
I saw that seattlemama has put cameron's name above his crib and it really looks adorable, so I plan on doing that once my mystery is solved.

What else are you girls using for wall decorations?

We are going to do the name and birth date, as well. We did wainscoating on the bottom and will be painting the top. Other than that, I don't know what we will be doing.

Well since I don't know if I am having a boy or a girl, I decided to decorate to my taste. I wanted color, and I wanted it to be fun and funky. I also can't do the cutsie thing.

So even though I don't have furniture, here is what I got:

The crib will be on this wall. I wanted to do a cool yellow and white wallpaper, but the one I LOVED was about $300 a double roll. Thankfully for my DH's wallet, my crazy hormones did not insist on this wallpaper. So I found a mural online that I liked, and thought, might as well give it a go. I am happy with the results, especially since I can't paint worth crap.

We are really into reading, so I took a quote from Fox in Socks, and had it printed out in vinyl lettering, and I am going to have a little bookcase under the lettering.

I decided to go with different funky fabrics for the curtains, which I still am working on.

Since my dad has knee issues, and my MIL has hip issues. I knew they would have trouble getting into the floor with the baby in the future. I thought big pillows and a couple of little stools would be a good idea.

I love this rug from Pottery Barn. We have an outlet near us so it was 1/2 the price. Plus it is super soft.

The artwork on the mural are flashcards. They have birds, starting at 1 bird, 2 bird...up to 10. I love the colors in them.

The other artwork is just fun.

Samantha yours is SO creative! I love it. For you ladies renting, (I am in the same position), Target has vinyl letters that you can put on the wall, and will come right off. We unfortunately dont have a nursery yet, (we have a 1 bedroom and she is sleeping with us in her bassinet until she is too big and needs her crib), but I plan on painting it all pink and brown since that is the colors of everything we have for her. Spelling out her name with letters. Getting one of the vinyl sayings to go above her crib. (They have one like sweet dreams and stuff like that) Also, this past Xmas, as a thoughtful gift, DH framed my fav baby pic of him, his fav of me, and our 20 week U/S pic of LO. The frame is really cute. It says FAMILY on top, and the three frames hang down from that. Its really sweet, and for now will be above the babies bassinet, and when we have a nursery, will go in there. Also, the crib set we have has 3 matching pics, and another pillow like wall art thing. Its cute, its all ballerina princess.

OMG Samantha, can't believe you've done all that yourself, it's amazing.

I'm really limited to what I can do, cause the room will be quite small, just big enough for a cot, wardrobe and dresser so their won't be much wall space, but because Ruby is just a little name I'm gonna do the name thing. xx
