Can stress trigger labour?

I'm having huge problems with my old landlord and i'm currently trying to get advice from the council to see if I have any right to appeal. I've spend 90 mins on the phone this morning and I'm now sat here in tears as I feel stressed and now i'm stressing about beiing stressed as I don't want to trigger labour over something so stupid.

hey hun, if anything I think it would prevent labour. your body naturally knows when its not "safe" to give birth and so i'd assume that stress would postpone labour as when you relax it induces labour.

i.e your body is not going to contract and dilate if its all tense.

Hope you get your situation sorted soon and get some time to chill out before the birth but I wouldnt worry about the stress inducing labour

Sounds horrible noodles!

Fairy's right though! Stress releases adrenaline which is more likely to stop or slow down labour.

Oxytocin kick starts labour and it released when you're happy, relaxed or having sex.

Awww... hun, I hope you get things sorted. I asked mw about this not so long ago when I was having a few problems. She said pretty much a fairy1984 just described. Baby can sense that you are stressed and would rather stay put (if that makes sense?). x
