Does anyone else have them who has never had them before? Whats the best stuff to take for them? I've been putting witch stick on them. Ouch! x

I've got one at the minute right under my nostril - Nice!! I get them all the time and find for me the best thing to put on them is Zovirax. They normally seem to go within a day or too of applying it. Only thing is with mine being under my nose I have to wait till I'm at home to put the cream on otherwise I look like I've just escaped from the loony bin

I never suffered before pregnancy but since pregnancy have suffered 3 attacks of the blasted things... I find best for me is Zovirax in the day and at night a compeed patch to keep it covered.

Use your own towel and don't share drinks etc. Try and isolate the virus as much as you can x x

Hi hun, I get these and just had one. My last one took ages to go and got massive, so this time I didn't touch it, just put a blob of sudocrem on it when it got sore at night and this time by not touching it or irritating the skin once it breaks (I put the patches on it last time but not this) it went so much faster.

Hi. I get coldsores a lot. I have had one during this pregnancy. I clean the sore with a bit of peroxide and then apply some medicated lip balm. The peroxide cleans it and drys it out a bit so use the lip balm to keep it moist. It has been the best remedy so far and I have tried a lot!

Hi, ladies, I have gotten coldsores all my life! Fortunately, I have been spared throughout my pregnancy. The best cures I have for them are taking Vitamin C (at least 2000 mgs) and Lysine 4x daily. Topically, I use Herpaid by Simplers Essential Oils. You can find it online. It is a natural remedy, but it works AMAZINGLY! I mean, the minute you feel the cold sore, put it on and it will be gone within a couple of days.

You can also get Lysine cream to put on it. Lastly, the herb that really tackles coldsores is Lemon Balm/Melissa (it is known by both names). Getting a tincture or even tea bags with this in it and putting it on your sore will help it go away really fast.

I hope this helps and these remedies aren't considered too crazy for you! I have tried prescribed medications, but these are the best I've found.
