Cant please everyone, simple.

Xmas to me now, is about my family, my OH my daughter (And new bundle) our xmas together.

I think parents/grandparents should really understand this.

We have said to OH's parents we MAY pop around in the evening if we have a bit of spare time, but no promises, we will deffo be around boxing day.
My family, well sadly its just impossible, being 4hrs away.

I'm having a c-section on the 18th, and we will be staying with my parents after I get out of the hospital so will be there for x-mass. DH works retail and since paternity leave isn't paid he can't take paternity leave, and since it's the holiday season he's not allowed to take vacation time (he has like 5 days paid vaca saved up) or planed sick days (he has a few paid sick days left too). So he's around for the birth and a couple days after, then he's going to be working. Luckily my parents live closer to his work then we do and staying with them means that my DD is taken care of, no way I could manage a 15 month old so soon after surgery. My DH will have x-mass day off at least, so we will have a lazy day at my parents house, do presents and eat some yummy food with them. The MIL may stop by if my parent let her (they hate her) but I'll just want to rest I think.

You can't please everyone. My grandparents keep asking my Mum if I'll be there, and she keeps telling them we don't know yet!

I've decided if I'm early and LO is a week old by Xmas day, we will see his family on Xmas day (as long as his Mum comes to collect us, and we are there for a set time.) he's a wimp at telling his Mum anything, so I end up looking like a bitch telling her we have to go!

We will then go to my Mums on boxing day. My grandparents will still be there, and I'll arrange to go at the same time as my sister, BIL and Nephew. My OH has only met my Mum once! Hes met my sis & BIL a few times tho, so he'll be much happier with them there (my mums lovely but comes across as a bitch and he's scared!)

If I'm overdue or LO is s few days old we are not leaving the flat!! People can come to us if they like, but I'm sitting on the sofa all day!!
