nipple stimulation to start contractions

has anyone tried this? i was reading about it last night and loads of ppl were saying it caused contractions and although they didnt necessarily lead anywhere, they def caused really strong contractions.

one site said you have to massage the nipple and areola to stimulate the feeling of breastfeeding cos when you breastfeed your uterus contracts.

so anyway i did it and nothing! not one contraction. i must hav been doing it wrong./ after about 15 mins milk started coming out.. and it wasnt nice. so i stopped. gosh

My breast pump actually says in the instructions not to use until birth, as it can bring on contractions and labour!

I tried it & it gave me contractions that didn't lead anywhere.

Nothing will get baby out until they are ready unfortunately. If anything happens after experimenting with getting baby out, it's purely a coincidence.

NS is not a myth i do have to point this out it is one of the proven methods for bring on labour but you have to do it for up to 3hrs per day (and it only worked for 37% of the women in the study),

there are down sides to it, your body has to be ready to go into labour if it's not then you may suffer with very painful BH until you go into labour and also you need to be prepared for very strong contractions if you do go into labour.

i've spoken to my doctor with regards to NS and he said it was fine to proceed if i wished but i must admit i'm a little scared as to how strong the contractions could get ,

God the things we do to get these LO out lol (as she woddles off to get a RLT with a calry sage tissue and sit back on the birthing ball
