Had my 36 week midwife appointment yesterday and there were a couple of things that made me laugh or pay attention.

Firstly, she asked if i'd packed my bag yet. I was laughing when i told her it'd been done for about 6 weeks! I am a little too organised at times and cannot imagine having only just done it, or not done it at all. OK, so i'm anally organised! Then she seemed shocked when i said my birth plan was in the bag. Am i not likely to have this baby quite soon?! Is it not better to have this ready?!

Then, she felt the baby and measured my blood pressure etc. My blood pressure was up from 115/70 at booking in to 130/80. She didn't comment until she saw my feet when i was lying on the bed and saw how huge they are. So now i have to go back next week to keep an eye on things. Nothing in my urine so hopefully no pre-eclampsia. i have forced myself to take things a little easier now that i'm on mat leave, but its hard when i have so many little things i'd love to get done. Nothing that can't wait, and is more important than baby's health though

Final thing, she said the baby is 3/5's engaged which i am very excited about! I know it doesn't mean it can't change but i figure its a step in the right direction. Also explains why i feel the need to sit with my legs apart now and the pains/pressure i'm getting down below. DH got it right the other day when he said my bump had definitely dropped.

Can't believe there are only 3 and a half weeks to go... Sorry for the extra long post!

im like you, i love to be organised! I dont have my bags packed yet, but ive made a list of everyting I need so just need to start putting a few things together and buy a few bits. Gunna do that after xmas i think. As for the birthing plan though, ive not even thought about it id rather keep my head in the sand at this point and not think about it too much xx
