| Q re those contraction monitors they put u on. Am getting monitored for reduced fetal movement. Bubs heartbeat is fine and averaging about 150. But the other one for contractions has gone from 18 to 43? What does that mean? Its going back down now tho. X | | | | Status: Offline

| That shows a "tightening" of your uterus... could be a big Braxton Hick?

| If you're actually in hosp right now, you could ask the MW?
If not, it's a contraction like other people have said. Likely BH. The strength and what it means is probably fairly specialist knowledge. | | | | Status: Online

| They measure the tension changes and show if you are contracting. The higher it goes the greater the change in tension, but they don't really correlate to a specific measurement. They tell you if you are contracting but not how strong or painful as that is partly subjective. | | | | Status: Offline

| it measures your contraction / bh strength . mine sits at 18 - 20 and when i get a tightning they range from 30 - 87 but it still doesnt do anything to my cervix . i think when they reach over 100 they will be when your in established labour .
everyones diffrent thats just my experience .
hope all is ok ? with you been in hosp , | | | | Status: Offline

| As others have said it measures the pressure of the uterus. Mine sat at between 10 and 12 when I was monitored the other day, highest it got to was 30 but I wasn't feeling anything at that time. xx | | | | Status: Offline

I asked and it was a contraction but BH contraction she said.
At least the period pains are Bh contractions and not all in my head.
