Well put, I often have to explain this to parents when the husband/mummy gets over excited that the 'toco' number goes up to 80 etc, yet the contractions palpate very mild! It doesn't measure the strength. In fact if you don't set the toco at 0 then everyone can reach 100.

ye i watched the monitor go up and down when i was in too....mines went from like 4 right up to over 100 one of the days, and just in general jumped all over the place
no idea what it meant but midwifes werent worried
