Facebook privacy help - OT sorry!

OT I know but....

If I block someone on FB it says they won't be able to search for me etc. But the person I want to block is friends with a few of my friends.....so would he be able to see me in their list of friends??

I kinda want to pretend I've deleted my FB account...but without actually deleting it - sounds childish I know but I have my reasons!!

It should be possible to change your privacy settings so that only your friends see your profile. Other settings are "friends of friends" and everyone. But I think people still have access to a kind of blank page where they see you have a page without actually having access to the info on it...

not 100% sure on this one but u would need to change settings so if ur other friends commented on ur page she would see that. but u can change that. just have a look at settings n it should tell u this one. think if u delete n block sumone, ur name comes up black on there screen, and they cant click on u. if u know what i mean

IF you BLOCK someone they cant see you at all, search you or see you on other peoples pages.

I have this sort of dilemma where there are two people I've blocked in the past. One didn't have any mutual friends and that's been straightforward but the other one and I share a number of mutual friends and so when she comments on their status posts etc I get to see what she's put (although it won't show me any info when I click on her name - yes, I've tried as I'm nosey! - and her name appears sort of faded).

It makes me think that when I comment on our mutual friends' post she will have similar and so be able to keep up to speed with things I've got going on.

Let me know if you get to the bottom of what to do.

It depends on your own privacy settings and theirs, ive blocked a couple people and we have lots of mutual friends, i cant search them or see them and they cant for me either,

It sounds like you just clicked the x next to there name on your friends list, which just removes them from you list. To block them properly you need to go in to privacy settings (which is in the drop down menu in settings next to log out), and then write the persons name in your block list, it will let you pick who you want to block, then click block. hi hun... they will be able to see u commenting on ur friends pages ect but they wont see ur pic theyw ill only see ur name but they wont be able to click on u atal

but they will no u have blocked them and not deleted it! as i know i blocked a girl whos a gossiper and told her i deleted it nd she knew haha good luck x

I think its to do with your privacy settings as purpledahlia said.. tbh my list of people iv blocked is long but its for the fact i have family on facebook that i live with etc and its nice to talk to them over that when i cant see them etc.. but iv got alot of childish people that keep trying to add me on facebook and people that i know dont like me they just try be all 'friendly' to me to be nosey does my head in

But if you block someone then they basically dont see what you write to any friends in common they have with you or see any comments you write on friends in common status's (thats how it is on mine anyway and i cant see what theyve wrote etc).. i dont think they can see you on there friends list as they cant when they search but just check your settings and change them if they say something you dont want etc
