Exactly. This is called iatrogenic prematurity. It is basically doctor-caused prematurity and had to be invented because so many premature babies are born after labors were induced or c-section operations were performed according to erroneous due dates or false weights. Never before has this kind of prematurity been a problem. I would have serious thoughts about sueing my doctor if that happened to me.

I was reading a book last night that was saying the reason drs. are so quick to say c-section or induce is because they are worried about being sued. Only in the U.S. are the c-section rates as high as 25%. Europe doesn't have better women, with better uterus, they have less litigation, therefore less of drs. having to say they did everything the could. It's VERY sad! We as women need to remember, it's our body, and we are the ones having the babies. We are built for it. It's time to take control of giving birth, instead of just trusting the dr.
