I'm Currently Feeling: | Breastpumps Which breast pump are you getting?
I'm going to a local commercial seller tomorrow to pick mine out. She sells the Medela pump in style orginal one for $120.00 which is awesome compared to 300 bucks I see in most stores. Its suppose to be close to a hospital grade pump. I'm excited! I had the first years single pump when I had Drake and it never compared to the Medela one I used at the hospital. Plus, she sells MEI TAIS!! . I've wanted one so bad! This is the one I'm getting from her, its gorgeous. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry for hijacking your thread but is it worth paying the extra for an electric pump as opposed to a manual one?

I'm Currently Feeling: | I have been told that Medela is the best to get!
I cant decide if I should get one yet because I am going to be staying home after the baby is born and not going back to work, so do you think I need one?? Or should I just get a smaller one, not quite so fancy... |

xxx | I guess it depends how easily you get on with a manual one. I've got the Avent manual breast pump and I'm hoping I won't have too much trouble with it. Unfortunatly how are you going to know till you've tried & they aren't the kind of thing you can try before you buy. |

I HATED manual pumps, I rented one from the hospital before buying my First years one and it was terrible. I found it hard to do on my own and my hubby hated it because it made his hands hurt . So I think its worth paying a little extra for an electric one personally, it saves you time.
Seattle~ I'm getting this one because its a double pump and I like the idea of pumping both my breasts at the same time. Instead of doing each one for 20 mins, it cuts the time in half. Also, its great to have pumped milk stored that way you can get your hubby to do some late night feedings while you get in some well deserved rest or when you go out if you don't want to breastfeed in public etc. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | True. I was thinking about just getting a manual one at first and seeing how it worked with our schedules and lives and then if I need to get the more pricey electric one I will. |

It depends on how much you'll pump. For my first I had a single manual pump and it worked ok for me, but I wasn't pumping from work or even every day... just to express a little as I had overactive letdown and if I was leaving for the evening.
If you're going to be pumping every day, electric DUAL is the way to go. IMHO |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Oh, and if you just don't want to spend the $$$ on a Medela, I've heard that the Lansinoh electric pump is very good too. Probably not for everyday pumpers but it's about $100 vs. $200 or $250! It's at Target too. |
