I'm still here, update on the leak situation....

in case you didn't read my post from friday, i thought my waters went, I had a gush and then soaked 3 thick maternity pads in 2 hours, and just trickled out uncontrollably when i sat on the loo, then it stopped overnight. Was checked at hospital the next day, as they couldn't see fluid still coming away (as they would expect) they said it could have been watery discharge! If thats the case i reckon I should be in the Guiness book of records for the most vaginal discharge, lol. they said they don't dip test for amniotic fluid anymore and as it was the weekend no ultrasounds. so i was sent home.

today went for another trace and check, and they fitted me in for a scan. I still have fluid at a level just under what they would expect, so the guess is i had a hind water leak which has resealed itself (which they can) and as the body makes more fluid the levels replenish.

Was good to have the scan though, cos they measured her and checked the blood flow in the cord etc. she is currently 6lb 2oz and everything looks good with our lil girlie! She is also now 2/5 palpable so going down nicely. she is back to back with me so midwife said plenty of walking up and down stairs to shift her!

so sorry ladies, your stuck with me til I go into labour now

It sounds like you've had a very positive appointment today! I've heard of hind waters resealing before but don't know how common it is.

Glad all is well - 6lb 2oz is a good size too!

With my little boy my waters went at 30 weeks and scan showed that they had dropped to a dangerous level. When scanned again they had built up to a safe level so resealed and then they went again at 36 weeks and had the same all over again. Ended up having my waters broken in the end during labour on my due date. Very odd

I was kinda geared up for being induced having had waters go and am a bit down cos she's not coming. But it's good really as she's still early and can be good and ready when she does come now. am happy with her weight and everything. Just hate not knowing when she will come, lol.

Hiya, mine went at 30 weeks and go every 3/4 days now - i have nearly made it to 34 weeks and scans always show plenty of water still round baby! they did swab me though to make sure it was amniotic fluid?

Its a really confusing one, they mentioned hind waters to me too - now always on edge as think I might burst into labour any minute!! hee hee

They also mentioned inducing me at 36 weeks, but haven't said anything since. I have to take my temperature everyday too and go straight in if i have a fever.

Good luck with it all x

I'm really pleased that you got an answer at last. Sounds like your LO is a good weight and on track. All good. You just need to be patient now! Take care.
