*Sorry* Yet another leaking waters thread

Im really sorry for this girls as I know theres a lot of these threads going round, in fact I'm sure I've even started one before, but I really need to ask someone. It might be a bit long and detailed.

At around 24wks I rang the hosp and was told to come in as I had felt like my waters were leaking, along with some bad braxton hicks and severe lack of fetal movement. Everything was fine, baby finally kicked into action (after nothing for like 3 days) as soon as I was hooked up to the trace. They said the leaking was just large amounts of creamy 'liqour' discharge. Was a bit confused as the liquid I had seen was thin and clear but was just relieved that baby was ok so went home.

Saw the midwife a couple of days later and went over the whole story with her again. She said she still wasn't satisfied that my waters weren't leaking and sent me up to be checked again. Same story, so went home again.

I was a bit paranoid for a few days after but since then I've not been worrying about them leaking.

But suddenly, the last few days, I've felt like they're leaking this time, but this time its totally different.

I first noticed about 3 or 4 days ago that I was soaking through pantyliners a lot quicker than normal, not within a half hour or anything, but probably doubling the amount I would usually use. So now I'm talking at least double the amount of fluid that made me phone the hospital the first time (its not calmed down any). Tbh if thats discharge, I don't really think I should have that amount of it.

Then I started to notice that I've been leaking alot in bed during the night, not exactly sure how much as I keep toilet paper beside my bed and wipe it anyway (half asleep) before it runs onto the bed or anything. I thought at first it might be related to when me and OH have sex but it doesnt go away or lessen any when we dont do it. I have however, noticed that I can feel a really abnormal amount of fluid during it, sorry tmi.

Then the thing that made me really think about it was when I have been coughing or sneezing the last few days, I've been getting a lot of fluid coming away, this time completely soaking a pad in one go. I had put it down to being urine at first, but after the second or third time I had a smell of it, and it doesnt smell like urine, doesn't smell like anything actually. Its a clear fluid, and as far as I can tell its quite watery. I also noticed that the fluid isnt coming out during my sneeze/cough, like the way you feel it when you get a bit or bladder weakness, but just after the sneeze/cough.

I really really want to avoid going up to the hospital if it turns out to be nothing. I felt stupid enough the last time, and especially being a first time mum and fairly young you do feel a bit overparanoid when they tell you its nothing. But I had this horrible vision earlier of them telling us that our baby had a bad infection and there was nothing they could do etc, so I really need to know that everythings ok.

Any ideas/opinions appreciated girls, thanks x

to be honest that doesn't sound like nothing, as you put it. It sounds like you are concerned and even if it all turns out to be perfectly normal to your pregnancy -aside from whatever a 'normal' pregnancy is as we are all different, then I would still get it check out again and again and again until you are happy with the results of what they are telling you.

I have reduced movements and have been checked up on loads of times, only to be told every time that it's fine and the baby is perfect. However I am still told to call them every time I am worried or don't get movements rather than stew on it and it be the one time something is wrong.

I would contact the hospital and take a copy of what you just wrote down - it's a good account of what is happening - sometimes the midwife/hospital don't hear what you are saying but instead are listening for what they want -if that makes sense?

i would get back to the hospital again. Its better to be safe than sorry, and from what ive read, that does sounds like your waters going slowly. Maybe bubba just wants to make an early appearance, but either way defo get check out xxx

I've been going through this the last few days! On Friday evening I had a gush of fluid, seemed quite a lot, then it soaked 3 of the thick maternity pads in 2 hours and when I sat on the loo just trickled out, i caught some in a urine sample bottle and it looked like water really clear. I went to bed at 10pm and had no further leaking. and no more the next day. i was checked at hospital the Saturday morning, and as no fluid was seen coming from my cervix they didn't confirm it was my waters! they tried to say it was watery discharge - which made me feel like i'd imagined what happend, how could discharge soak 3 entire thick pads!!!!!!

anyhoo, i had a scan today and my fluid levels are just below what they would expect, so the guess is it was a hind water leak which can reseal and the fluid levels replenish themselves. so all fine and dandy.
