Being induced 37+5wks.

Hya just wondered if anyone could share there experiances of being induced at 37+5wks or around that time.

Its my second baby, and have been told this early on at starting labour could take days as my cervix might not be ready.

How can i ripen my cervix for when im induced, ive got 9days?

How long did it take to start your labour?

Was told if im not ready will have a 24hr tablet an then if nothing will have 24hr brake. Or if my cervix is ready to have a tablet every 6hrs.

Please can i have advice. Thank you xx

Hi hun i was induced at 37+4 with lottie, my waters broke on their own but nothing else happened and when i went into be checked my bp was slightly high so they induced! I was put on the drip at about 6:30pm, the contractions kicked in about an hour later, i had g&a which was great, i can't remember much about the next few hours but i was given pethadine, even though i didn't really want it, next thing i new i was ready to push and lottie was born at 1:25am, so the whole thing was actually really quick! It was a pain being strapped to the bed but to be honest i didn't feel the urge to walk around or anything as it all happened so quick! Lottie did have to be delivered quickly as her hb was up & down so doctors were called and they used a ventouse but she was born safely and if i can have another labour the same i would! Good luck, i'm sure you'll be fine! xx

Sorry, I don't have any suggestions, but...is there a particular reason you're being induced so early?

I was going to be induced at 38wk
due to stillbirth at 42weeks..

But i asked for a section instead hoping for 2/2/2010
(37+5)

soo im having elective either be 2nd or 4th feb next year

consultant had told me cervix may not be ready at 38wks
soo i decided for Myself.. rather than wait for cervox to soften
and get closer to the dates, that i just opted for section
as i dont think id be able to cope with a natural birth myself
with mental pressure after my daughters death...

Hugs to You doll know how hard it is

xx

I'm so sorry to hear about your previous loss. That must've been hard.

All the best for your upcoming induction/delivery!
