Braxton Hicks!

Jeeeezuz, Is anyone getting really painful BH's?. Mine have gone from ugh annoying to omg this bloody hurts. Usually end up turning into a real contraction too. I wish they would make up their minds either stay and become regular or go awaaaaaaay instead of once in awhile. Why is this last month so terrible?

I cant tell whether my BH's are turning into real contractions or not, but they are definitely painful!! These days, even getting into the bath doesn't help too much. I just lay there in pain. =( These last weeks are definitely hard, but it will be worth it when LO is here. So excited for you that LO is stayin put tho!! =)

I know what you mean, just nothing seems to work now. I love this baby and I want this baby to make it to 37 weeks at least but damn some days its just unbearable.

Oh, is anyone else getting lots of discharge lately too? every time I go to the bathroom its quite gross. I'm just getting oodles of it coming out now , was wondering if its still my plug coming out.

If you get more than 6 in an hour you should call your doctor. Of course your close enough to the time when delivery would be ok. I had been having a lot of them too, 5-10 min apart for a few nights and my doc says that your uterus is supposed to contract about every 20 min on average, sometimes you just dont feel it because they are small and other times you can really feel them. But she told me that if you get more than 6 in an hour that last for a decent length like they dont just come and go quick that I should call her. They are really uncomfortable though, sometimes I feel like they make it hard to breathe.

I'm dreading the time i start getting them. Some have said they don't hurt and just feel weird but most girls I've talked to say they hurt a good amount. When did everyone start getting braxton hicks?

I've had a lot of what I thought could be braxton hicks but apparently the stage I'm at they shouldn't be painful. Feels like period pains a bit but they last a bit longer and my tummy goes hard. It feels dead weird.

I started getting them at about 19 weeks actually... they just make your uterus feel really tight and hard. At first they didnt hurt and I could only really notice them when I was sitting and had my hand on my belly. But now in the third tri esp cause my uterus is higher up by my ribs they almost feel like they put pressure on my lungs and organs cause they get so tight and hard and your whole belly looks tight and I notice them walking, standing, sitting, anything.

horrorheart, some woman dont even get them at all, and others get them all the time. My friend never had them once in her whole pregnancy. So, you might be in luck and not get them. Most women though do get them in their last month at least to start practicing for labor.

Thanks hon, I've had more than 6 in a hour before but I won't be calling my doctor unless I'm in labor. I'm not suppose to go in/call unless they're 4-5 mins apart and lasting 45secs or more I was told. At this point they won't stop it so I have to wait til I'm in actual labor to go in or if my water breaks. Plus, I've had my 2 steriod shots (dunno if you saw but had preterm labor about 2 weeks ago and it stopped on its own) so not really worried at this point if I do go into labor.

How are you doing hon? Have they given you steroids for the bub yet for just in case? Really hope those contractions stop for you and that the baby sticks awhile longer

I've been getting them for the last 4 weeks or so (that I could feel)

For the first week it was once every couple days.
The second week I could feel them once a day or so.
The third week I could feel them one or two times a day.
This week I'm feeling them more often during the day.

They are NOT painful, but they are uncomfortable and often cause me to 'bind up' a bit like a painless or near painless muscle cramp.

I often have to stoop over a bit or pause through them since they do take my breath away. (Not because they are painful, but because the act of the contraction keeps my diaphram from expanding all the way on a normal breath).
