I´m planning on going back to work. Theres been a change of law over here this year, which means I can stay off work for the first year and get paid 67% of my previous salary. After that it depends when work puts on the next rejoiner course for me to refreshen my cabin attendant training. So its not a case of me phoning work and saying expect me next week!!

Ideally I´d like to take off 18months and go back to part time flying. We´ll see how financially viable that is when the time comes. I´ve no family close by though to help with free childcare

A friend of mine went back to work after 6 months and her child is a happy healthy 2 year old now and has not suffered at all. I think whatever we do with our babies, be it breastfeed or bottle, disposable nappies or recycleable - there will always be someone waiting to give their unwanted opinion. We´ve just got to ignore them and do what we think is best for us and our children. Thats all we can do!

You just have to do whats best for you and your family and no-one can make you feel bad for that.

I've been fortunate to be able to take a year off after both of mine, I'm due back September and have to go back really because even though my bloody nursery fees are £1005 PER month, I can't justify not going back financially as we have a hefty mortgage.

After my 12 weeks maternity leave I will be returning to work on Mondays and Tuesdays... partly because I don't want to take myself out of the field and lose my skills~ hospitals is always changing!! I will probably go nuts at first but I know it's whats best for my family and I.
