Are there any signs before labour?

I have had period type cramps on and off for a week, really intense BH on and off for a week, plus a lot of lower back pain. I also have increased (TMI) discharge, my hubby thinks its my waters leaking as I am constantly damp but it’s clear and haven’t lost my plus yet, I assume when and if my waters go it will be blood stained or something??? :S
I have also had (TMI) increased Bowel movements and soft stool and feel quite tired and sick. Oh and my certix is low.
Baby is still moving about though, he/she was engaged (not sure how much) at my last check, baby seems to stay quiet for ages then have bursts of energy and movement! Lol!
Are any of these signs lol? Or am I destined to be late like most first time mums? I am so disheartened because I keep seeing different MW and when I was diagnosed with SPD one said she would discuss it with me before 37 weeks and I could be induced if I wanted, but the MW I keep getting (who is horrible) said that there was no way she would even consider inducing me until I was 2 weeks late.
I always thought I would have a baby in my arms by now and here I am thinking I could be pregnant for weeks yet! Grrrrr ... and people wonder why I don’t work for the NHS anymore!!!

sounds like you have got lots of the wee signs hun, hopefully things will get moving for you soon - when do you see midwife again? you could ask her to check your cervix (unless its the dragon one lol)

Aww bless you - I know exactly how you feel.

I'm 39 +6 now and have been having all the same symptoms as you for nearly 3 weeks. Last night the BHs were so strong that we even got the bags down and ready to go in the car! This morning...? Nothing.

It is soooo frustrating - but apparantly it can go on for weeks

I've lost a lot of plug (no blood but clear and white tinged and LOADS of it), I have bouts of period pains, back ache and diarrohea, and I'm starting to get really cranky!

I hope yours doesn't last too long - here's hoping it'll be a swift labour, and I keep trying to remember that every BH and twinge is actually doing something.

Good luck x

Seeing her Thursday, never know who i will see, tempted to book appointment with consultant as they said if i ever wanted to see them again just call up and ask about induction!

I really dont want an induction but i also dont want to still be pregnant at 42 weeks :S lol

Thanks for your reply, hopefully its signs of something soon!

Oh dear lol! so might still end up being late lol! bought some clegy sage oil online yesterday so hopfully that will help, i know its prob all old wives tales but anything is worth a go! been on the RTL for weeks and evening primrose so i can but hope.

Walking really helps increase all the symptoms for me, but can only do that for so long cos of SPD and once i relax after a while all pains fade! grrr!!!

My mum told my hubby off for not having eveb tried out the car seat yet lol! but to be honest i am so prepared i think thats the problem, if i was under prepared it would be here by now! lol!

Good luck honey, let us know when something happens x x x

I have been having period cramps, strong bh's, loose bowels and lots of discharge for about a week and a half now! I've had my steroid injections for baby's lungs but i don't think i will get anywhere near my due date!
Like you, baby is quiet then has mad sessions of being really active!! xx
