36 week MW app - what do they do? Can I miss it?

Basically, my appointment is on Tuesday, the only day the mw visits my gp surgery, but it's the same day/time as my grandad's funeral. I'm going to try and rearrange for an earlier time, but if I can't will I miss much?

I'm been (touch wood) problem free so far and feel fine at the minute....

All the MW did at my appt was the same as usual - test my urine sample, check my blood pressure, take my fundal measurement and listen for the heartbeat and answer any questions I had so think you'd be fine to re-schedule? x

I've been told at my 36wk appt they'll be doing the birth plan but you have your grandads funeral to attend to so i'm sure they wouldn't mind you changing it

I just had mine, and yes, as everyone says, normal blah blah blah stuff, but did book double appointment for next one to go through birth plan - so may be worth calling her to see if she needs to do that next time. Sure she'll understand - and if she doesn't - I'm sure she'll get over it!! Remember - they are working for us, not the other way round!

Thanks girls.

Sounds like the only different thing would be birth plan, and my midwife basically told me not to bother at my last appointment when I brought it up!

Going to give them a call now and see what I can do. Just annoying that they are only at my surgery once a week.

Do they do an ante natal clinic at your hospital?

My GP surgery is the same, MW only goes every Wednesday so on the days I couldn't make it or they couldn't fit me in I've gone to the hospitals ante natal clinic
