I'm Currently Feeling: | Ibuprofen Question I have to take Ibuprofen for the contractions I have been having and I have noticed that the baby doesnt move as often since I started taking it. Is that normal? I figured maybe because isnt Ibuprofen a muscle relaxant? So I thought maybe it relaxes the baby too...? |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I'm not sure about Ibuprofen for contraction but I do know when I take nephedipine to slow down my contractions my baby seemed more relaxed, more so a few hours after I had taken it. Maybe give your doctor a call in the morning and see what s/he has to say about it. I also have Non stress tests to see how baby is doing. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Thanks Luckyme, I will call tomorrow. I figured that it was either because of the medicine or because Im not doing much of anything so he just kinda kicks back and relaxes. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I would say it's because it's a muscle relaxer. Usually relaxing makes the baby start to wake up, because it's not being rocked. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I didn't think Ibuprofen should be used in the 3rd trimester? Maybe I'm wrong. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I was told not to take ibuprofen or asprins when Im pregnant, but Im not sure how true it is. I would have a word with your GP, but maybe baby is just running out of room? I read somewhere that the further along you get you don't get as many kicks because theres not a lot of room in there.
Hope you feel better soon

I'm Currently Feeling: | as far as im aware ibuprofen should not be used during any stage in pregnancy. Is this just something you have taken or has it been prescribed. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My midwife told me to take it when I pulled a muscle in my back, but not to take it longer than 12 hours. She said after that it can cause the platelet (sp?) count in your blood to drop affecting the baby. |
