I'm Currently Feeling: | I didn't think Ibruprofren should be used during pregnancy....I'd double check with your MW before taking any more |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Just thinking Seatlemama, probably best to speak to your doctor cause there are lots of side effects for ibuprofen which makes it best avoided in pregnancy, as is any anti-inflammatory. I am however aware that under close supervision some medications can be continued.
I would though ask your doctor if there is an alternative, like the nephidpine that luckyme is taking. Don't want to alarm you, just want to help. x |

I'm Currently Feeling: | If you go to safefetus.com you can see the rating for this drug, and there is a special warning not to be used in third tri.
Why would they prescribe you that???
It usually has a B rating, but:
The risk category will be D only if used in the third trimester.
No adequate human data in 1st trimester exposure but reported doubtful association with some congenital anomalies (anencephaly, cerebral palsy, microphthalmia, nasal cleft, and tooth staining) and fetal death.
Use of the drug in 3rd trimester causes constriction of ductus arteriosus with subsequent pulmonary hypertension and oligohydramnios by affecting fetal renal function.
Inhibits labor, prolongs pregnancy. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I am only supposed to take it for 2 days, it was prescribed to me by my doctor. I am done taking it today. She told me that normally I wouldnt use it in the 3rd tri but just for 2 days it wont hurt anything its just to help stop my contractions. I will talk to her about it though when I go in on Tuesday. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | That's good that it's not gonna be prolonged use. I doubt it can have bad effects for a short period. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I dont think a doctor would be silly enough to prescribe something that would be dangerous for you or your baby so Im sure everything will be fine Hope the pain eases up for you though.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Sorry ladies,
But seattlemama is under the supervision of her healthcare provider. We do not have her medical history, nor do we know the cost/benefit to prescribing ibuprofen to her at the risk of having a preterm infant and all the problems that brings.
Is it right and proper for her to check into it, certainly! But I don't think that she should have a reason not to trust the healthcare provider she has chosen.
Good luck to you Seatlemamma! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I only took 2 yesterday and I havent taken any today because I dont want to take too many, I am going to see if I start having them again and if I do I will go ahead and take another. I was a little confused when she gave that to me too, but I asked and she said it was fine. I havent taken one yet this morning and baby is moving a little more than yesterday. I ate a half hour ago so I am doing a kick count. |
