I'm Currently Feeling: | My baby too is breech and if it hasnt turned around by next weeki have to go for a scan to actually check which way it is for defo, but a c-section was dicussed by the MW, i really DONT want a c-section but i think it would be safer, as when delivering a breech baby if the feet and body were to come out first it can be very dengerous if the head we to not fit through the pelvis this is one of the reasons for docs prefering to deliver by c-section. As in a normal birth if the babys head cant fit through, an emergancy c-section would be advised i think this is good enough reason for me but we all have our own different opinions on this and we all have the right to choose how we want to deliver our babies |

If the doctor or midwife has enough knowledge and/or experience, he/she would know that changing positions during labour changes the size of your pelvis. The position that doctors love (lying on your back - they get a good view) is the WORST position for childbirth as your pelvis is compacted and there's no gravity to help birth your baby. Squatting, kneeling or on your hands and knees makes your pelvis nice and wide, these positions nearly eliminate the possibility of baby getting stuck. (I say nearly because there's always one! In those cases the midwife would use her hands to help baby get free.) These positions are used when shoulder dystocia happens.
Again, how you choose to give birth to your baby is entirely up to you.
Just don't always believe the doctors, get information for yourself, that's all I'm trying to say |

I'm Currently Feeling: | well................................ very heated topic i can see. i dont no what to think, you see i have to now see hospital as im due today and nothing has happened baby not engaged blarrrrr blarrrrr blarrrr is all i heard when midwife was talking to me, induce you this way induce you that way maybe a section.......... waht the F**k why cant they just leave me to do it by my self. i dont want them to sweep what every, and i dont want them to stick gel in me and i dont want them to brake my waters without me having any contractions what if it takes ages i will have a dry birth OUCH and it will be them that done it. so i guess ive been thinking, that if they encourage me to have my baby, they are really interfering with my bodys natural ways. and if i have a section it wouldnt be so bad beacuse at least they werent filling my veins with hormaones that i already own and dont need. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi Kelly! It's so annoying to hear them talking about induction when you've only just hit your EDD!
I've put 'no induction, no membrane sweeps, no breaking of waters' on my birth plan just to make my point. If baby wants to be late and he/she is doing ok then leave him/her there!
If you want to give birth naturally, you have every right to say no to the interventions. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Obiously its everyones individual choice, but if a doctor werew to suggest a c section to me because of something like that Id probably take it. But thats only because Im absolutely clueless about medical things and I tend to just take doctors word as gospel.
Its every persons choice though. If you want to deliver naturally, stick to your guns, you have every right to a natural birth if you want one.

| i have done as much research as you possibly can about a vaginal breech birth because i DON"T WANT A C/S but that it me and from what i have been able to find out for me its not going to be ant more dangerous to have this baby vaginaly then if he was the right way round yes i will need to deliver in an upright possition and yes there is a small chance his head may get stuck but as i am having a doctor who specilises in vag breech births and he has his own team of midwives that do as well he has assured me he knows hoe to get them unstuck and the risks are about the same as the shoulders getting stuck now as i have said this is the case for me and possibly only because it is bub number 6 and not my first but i also beleave we are way to quick to just beleave what we are told as kelly said for years it was acceptable for women to have breech birth because there were no c/s and then once there was they were only ever used in real full on emerganceys if you want a c/s then thats cool but make sure you are doing it because you beleave its the best way not because you have been told its the only way and i have decided that i beleave in my bodies ability to do this and if it cant then they can do the c/s but not till i have given it my best shot. | | | | Status: Offline

I am because it sounds like my worst nightmare! As long as he's being monitered and everythings ok I dont mind him staying in there as long as he needs to.
