Acupuncture/Acupressure to induce labour?

=)

Has anyone tried this?

I know there are "DIY" acupressure things you can do from websites etc but I'd rather go to a pro cause at least they know what they are doing!

Also, what sort of time is a good time to start? Is it over in one session on your due date or can you have a few sessions a week from 37 weeks?

I'm interested as I've had acupucture before and it really worked! So I am more inclined to give it a go =) !

xXx

I went for accupuncture 3 times since 38wks but to no avail!!!however I find that them sort of things dont really have too much of an effect on me in general(went bafore for acne and it made no difference)! My mum and my SIL had accupuncture with the same woman though and they were in labour that night so i suppose it depends on how ur body reacts to it???!!

How much does a session cost if you don't mind me asking? When I had mine it wasn't too bad but I don't know if they charge different rates for different things x

it was 30 euro over here(am in Ireland)...if it worked it would be well worth it!!!!!have to admit had VE and sweep on fri and consultant said everything was v.favorable head engaged cervix stretchy. compared to 2wks ago when the head was down but not engaged or anything so maybe its not brought me on as much as id have liked but it must have done something to get all moving down!!

My physio had booked me for an acupressure massage for Tuesday if nothing happens over the weekend to stimulate LO.
