Not so scared anymore

Since entering the third trimester I've been really uneasy about the thought of a natural birth. I get nervous and stressed out when I think about it... but now its not so bad.

I find as I'm nearing the end of my pregnancy I'm actually very excited to experience a natural labour and water birth. I can't wait to begin the whole process really... even though I know it will be painful. I'm so excited to start feeling the beginning of labour pains and whatnot. Call me crazy, but I'm really looking forward to it

I can't wait to meet my little one.... not much longer to go now.

How are you ladies feeling about labour? Are you excited as well or nervous?

You're not crazy lol

I'm really, *really* excited about the labour - I get lots of bad contractions and have already lost my mucas plug so I'm thinking (hoping) that it won't be too much longer now... every little twinge lately and I'm thinking "Is this it??!"

I'm so excited for when it actually starts and I can't wait to be able to announce "I'm in labour!!" lol Hubby is excited, too. But I guess that's not surprising as he won't get any of the pain - just the end of the pregnancy and the begining of parenting

LOL! Good to know I'm not the only one who is excited.

I never even thought of being able to announce, "I'm in labour"! I bet I'll be running around trying to figure out what to do and panicking.

The only part I'm nervous about is the 1hr trip to the hospital... I certainly don't want my DH to deliver the baby on the side of the road lol.

I am excited about it as well. I have no fears that I can locate in my head. I have been doing some great reading as well about natural birth. I know it will hurt, but it is part of the process and I will have people around me who love and care for me, and I know that will really help.

I cannot wait!
For me, I am more scared of going to the dentist than having to give birth.
Yeah, that sounds about right.

LOL sweetheart I don't think that you're gonna have such a quick labour that it'll start and finish in an hour! lol

I'm gonna try and stay at home as long as I can, until the contractions are really close together, because I don't wanna be stuck in a hospital with nothing to focus on apart from the fact that I'm in labour - I think somehow that the contractions would hurt more if I'm bored and in one room thinking about nothing else other than when my next contraction's gonna be...... At home at least I can pop the kettle on and make a cup of tea - maybe catch neighbours before we leave... My trip to hospital is 40 mins and we'll have to go by ambulance because we have no other way of getting there. I still wish I could have a home birth, but at the moment my iron is so low that I can't even have the baby at my local hospital because they don't have the facilities to deal with the possible emergencies or whatever

Yep, I'm another one.

I can't wait to experience every sensation of giving birth, I can't wait to put into practise all the things I've been reading, like singing and kissing DH to help my cervix dilate and listening to my body instead of other people about how to ease this baby out.

I'm hoping that I'll end up having an unassisted labour, sat in my birthing room this morning thinking about how it would go! But shhhhh!!!

Even contemplating eating a small bit of my placenta because of all the goodness that comes from it - all the nutrients and it helps slow bleeding.

I don't know if I'll ever be able to get pregnant again so I want to all I can to make this birth memorable

I'm really looking forward to the birth too. I plan to do it semi naturally - with gas and air but I'm not afraid of the pain. Tbh I'm mostly worried about after. I have silly fears about him not being healthy but apparently thats quite normal.

I'm looking forward to birth! Since its getting so close, everyone keeps asking me if I'm nervous, and I can honestly tell them that I'm not. I'm so excited to meet my daughter, and to hold her in my arms, and share that moment with DH. I was nervous at first, but like I told my sister a few weeks ago, Its like being strapped in a roller coaster, at the very top of the hill, and even if your nervous, your gonna go down that hill no matter what, so might as well enjoy it! Besides, being nervous and stressing over something never makes it go away. It will all be worth it in the end.
