Cloth diapers

From Aqua's thread on clothes, a couple of mamas were talking about cloth diapers...

What are you ladies using?

We purchased these:

I wish they still made the same diapers my mom used on me and my brother (the so called sweedish diapers).

I bought what they call pre-folds, the brand is Tommee Tippee Cotton Bottoms. There's the fabric that you fold in a certain way depending on boy/girl and then cover with the pants.
Tommee Tippee has discontinued the line but I bought enough to last into toddlerhood.
I'd like to get some other brands too, like the one's Aqua's got or similar, but we'll have to wait and see.

I'll have to go count them... hang on!

Right. There's 3 different sizes. For each size there's about 6-8 pants and 24 fabric 'towel's. If I ran out of the smaller 'towels' early on I could use the larger sizes and do the old-fashioned terry towelling fold... does that make sense?!

Edited to add a link to ebay selling exact same item I bought... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Birth-to-Potty...QQcmdZViewItem

That's actually a good idea Deise. I should talk to my relatives over in Europe and see if they can send me some.

I'm gonna use reusables - all shaped ones, though 'cause I can't be doing with all the folding and that; I like the velcro ones that you just put on and do up like a disposable... I think if I was doing folding and using pins we'd end up with bulky bums, lots of leaks and lots of pin-stabs! I've got quite a few different kinds but I really liked the look of fluffles and bamboozles from tots bots so I have quite a lot of those. All our nappies are the shaped, bamboo ones with velcro fastening, which have a waterproof wrap on the outside.

Not looking forward to our water and energy bill after I've washed them all three times, though!

I am planning on using a service, and I don't know for sure what they provide. But I love the name: Debbie Does Diapers.

There's a cool little deal out now called a Snappi that you use instead of pins.

If we end up going with prefold and covers, I'm definately investing in these...
