I'm naming my son Quintin and people spell it wrong, I just keep correcting them. She might just not know your spelling it differently, maybe shes forgetful? lol

you simply text back saying "Aidan is fine thanks" no big deal. They will be sure to get it right on birthday/christmas cards etc, over time they will just get used to how its spelt. For now just relax about it, he isnt born yet so plenty of time for them to remember the spelling of his name.

People still spell my name wrong... after 22 years of being reminded. It's not a big deal really, so long as most people know.

I think this is the best approach ...

Some names people just struggle to spell/pronounce (with my name both!)... It is just the way of the world, unfortunately. My name is Lois, but after 35 years I have learnt to look/listen out for Louise/Louis/Luis/Lewis or any one of a number of other similar names...

Just be polite and persistent

QT

I can totally get this. My daughter is called Rhiannon. said the way u spell it. My oh's family always spell it wrong!!! Shes nearly 5 for god sake!

and ppl call her Rhian, or Rhianna. I hate it with a passion. But thankfully my LO has a mind of her own and will say thats not my name its Rhiannon!!! lol good on her.

So i can understand how upsetting this is. Doubt it will change them tho.

I'm a TERRIBLE aunty because i know I still spell my nephews and nieces name wrong.

I used to text to ask my brother but I can't do that still as I REALLY should know them by now.

I know their names, just they're unusual and complicated.

If it is bothering you just mention it to her nicely and tactfully as I'm sure she'll sort it out. If my brother ever pulled me aside and with love told me it was REALLY out of order I'd definitely get my act together.
