Oh hun, I really do know how you feel.

It bugs me like crazy, my little boy is also Aidan.
I'm sick and tired of telling/reminding people of how to spell his name. I mean its not that hard!! I've even had a Aidun, for goodness sake

He's 1 in 30 mins and people are still managing to spell it wrong!

Great choice of name x

my name is Priscilla....even my dad spells it wrong sometimes...people say it wrong too...

my son is Dylan...my dad hates that name so he calls him Mikey (his middle name is Michael) so that is their thing...tons of people spell it dillon....

this baby is Jack (changed the name) my inlaws don't like it...they're calling him by his initials (J.C.)

it's really not something to get so worked up over

As someone who has a name that can be spelt multiple ways... it's something that your little one is going to have issues with it's ENTIRE life.

My G'ma, who's bday is the day before mine, is lovely and so amazing... she has spelt my name RIGHT I believe once in my entire life... so it's a common thing. You've just got to almost get used to constantly reminding people how to spell it - because most people tend to go towards the "norm" for spelling.

My name is always spelt wrong - I'm Nikki (prefer Nix tho!) but it's so often spelt Nicki or Nicky or some other variation. My daughter, Elisha, ALWAYS has her name spelt wrong (Alisha, Elysha, Alicia etc) and I'm pretty sure that this LO will have her name spelt wrong on more than one occasion (we're naming her Evie).
The only one from my family that doesnt have issues with name spellings is my OH .. he's called Jason but prefers to be called Jay, so it's unusual for people to spell that wrong!

If there's many variations on a name spelling then it's bound to be spelt wrong at least a few times.

My son is 15 in January and to this day certain members of family and friends still spell his name Connor as opposed to how it is spelt, Conor!

People still spell hollie wrong, they spell it with a Y and not with an IE, i even had to tell MW in hospital a few times, and she said, well everyone spells its with a Y,I said i dont care what others call there children, we can name and spell OUR kids names how we want, then when i got so annoyed with her, i said really loudly, sorry whats YOUR name, is was COMFORT!!! I said sorry persil, can i have some water, she just looked at me and said no its comfort, i said no i dont need comfort, i would like some water, and after i've had my water, me and HOLLIE with an IE will be getting ready to go home, she just kissed her teeth as she walked down the corridor to get my water, then when i was going home, i said thats for all your so called help persil
But i would persist with your SIL saying, please its Aidan with an A, not and E, and everytime she does it correct her, i would and i still do now with people xxx
