I'm Currently Feeling:

How much baby clothing do you have?

...and are you washing everything prior to wearing?

I have been doing laundry since yesterday just washing every single thing that will come into contact with the baby.
I got this scent free baby detergent.
My mom has bought SO much that I think we are set for the first year.
The only thing that's funny is that nothing so far is gender specific....green, yellow and white.

I've got everything for the first 3 months. We've bought loads and received a lot as gifts on christmas. I'm just a bit scared he won't be able to wear everything, we should have bought some more 3-6 months clothing instead.

Got a couple of 3-6 months as well as 6-9 months. Everytime we go shopping we can't help it but to stop at every baby clothes store to see if they have some things on sale... We caught some great deals at some nice stores !

Everything is washed now and has been put away in his wardrobe.

I've only bought newborn stuff thus far.. as i don't know what the sex is, wanted to wait till the baby is born before i buy bigger. Hopefully i wont have a big baby!

But to be specific ive got about 15 Baby gros and 15 vests. 1 Out fit and some socks, scratch mits, hat and a coat.

I'll buy the rest when it comes.

Oh and bibs... lol

I've also washed everything that i think the baby will wear, i haven't washed the coat or the outfit yet as i don't know if they will be suitable!

xx

We've got enough to last a month or so but like you it's all neutral (well, there is some purple tie-dye in there but that neutral to me!). Our families will probably go nuts buying clothes so we'll be sorted. I'm only washing the clothes that'll be next to skin, already washed all the nappies.

My changetable/dresser is jam packed with 0-3 months clothes. I figure I'm going to have a fatty baby (cutecute) so I only have a few newborns. I also have tons and TONS of 3-6 and up packs away. Haven't even had my shower yet either!

Glad I am not alone on this!
We only bought one pack of 8 just to see how it goes and then if everything is good with those we will buy more.

I have about

9-12 outfits for 0-3mo and
12-18 outfits for 3-6mo and
6-10 outfits or so for both 6-9 and 9-12mo.

I pulled a lot of these things from DD's stash of clothes that I saved back, and I got the rest one day in a second hand shop in my community.

Yes, I washed everything... I use Charlie's Soap as it is vegetable based, and is biodegradable (and very economical). Most of the cloth diapering mamas I know use this too and they love it. I figure if it's good enough to clean doo doo, it's good enough to clean the rest! So I ordered some a couple months ago and have been using it on all our adult clothing. I dont' use fabric softener nor any other additives other than borax once in a while. For bad dishrags, I will soak those in some bleach but other than that, I just wash as I normally would.

I'm hooked. I love the 'clean' scent vs the fragrance of other detergents, and this has actually made our towels softer and more absorbant. I don't use dryer sheets, and because there isn't that buildup on the towels, they get us dry without scratching!

We're located in a northern cold climate, and I also haven't noticed an insane amount of static that I'm usually running into about now (especially that I'm not using dryer sheets).

Anyway, sorry to derail a bit, I've just been so pleased with Charlies, I had to put my 2 cents in.

For baby things, I still need receiving blankets, and we're still trying to decide about cloth diapering vs. disposables so I need to get diapers sometime too.
