3rd degree tear! OMG!


so at antinatal class today we were told about this. I hadn't realised it can tear u all the way from your hooha to your bullseye!! My eyes are still watering!

i had a 3rd degree tear!! it wasnt that bad really! a 4th degree tear's worse, you literally tear right the way thru

LOL they never even mentioned a 4th! Thank god otherwise I'd have vomited! She did say that having a water birth would make it more difficult to prevent a tear as it's harder for the midwives to see where the babys head is. If it's not that bad as u say then it ok otherwise I'm seriously reconsidering water birth!

oh god ud think they wud giv us a cut before this could happen but i supose they are never sure what can happen x

They did say they can cut u first but I was in so much shock I never heard her telling us when u can get one!

I had a 3rd Degree tear which needed 9 stitches. It wasn't that bad.... except when the Doctor came to stitch and asked if the students could watch as it was "quite a bad one" Once it had healed I never had any probs.

Was that the worst bit of labour for u and on a scale of 1-10, how painful was it? Might as well prepare myself just now just incase! X
