Hating your body.

Since pregnancy, I've come to really hate my body. I'm always uncomfortable, my boobs are too big and I don't fit into anything. Can anyone else relate to this?

Aww hun! Lots of for you!! I've felt like this on and off throughout my pregnancy... especially as my husband lost his libido for a few months (due to illness but try telling hormonal-pregnant-brain that!) and I've felt generally as if my body is undesirable and almost like my nemesis working against me in everything I try to do... fortunately it hasn't been a constant thing for me...

It will probably get better for you after the birth, hun - It's normal to be emotional throughout your pregnancy and people respond differently to every aspect of pregnancy - some people love their pregnant bodies, others hate them. There's nothing wrong with you - or your body! And I bet you'll feel heaps better after the birth, when you start to feel a bit more 'normal' again...

If it's really getting you down though and you think you may be developing depression because of it, do speak to your midwife - they are there to help, and they really can!

We are of course all here for you, though if you just want to rant it off or just need a great big cyber hug and to be reminded that you're not the only one going through this and we all will and do get there in the end!

Take care, x

Oh hun I am so sorry you are not enjoying your pregnant body. I have been amazed at how my body is changed. I love my bump, love it. Not crazy about the larger boobs, as they get in the way. But overall I like my pregnant body.

I'm loving my breasts growing (I am normally a B cup) but the bloating is getting to me as I normally have a flat belly. I'm very self consious of my body.

Sending you big hugs!

I've been there and can truly say that I didn't really enjoy my prior pregnancies because of the weight gain, big belly, etc. It was tough on me as generally I am very skinny.

What is so inspiring this time around is hearing how so many are proud of their bumps, proud of being pregnant, etc. It hopefully has given me a more positive attitude this time around.

Of course, that can all change towards the last months of pregnancy, where you are right now. I believe during those months, pregnancy just gets tiring, we get fed up, and we can only see tunnel vision to the delivery, to the future where our bodies are back to normal, etc.

In the beginning of my pregnancy I was so excited about my belly growing, but now it's just so big it's ridiculous.. and it will get bigger obviously. The only thing I like is having an excuse to be chubby for once, lol. But my belly is bigger than a lady I know who is at about the same stage in pregnancy and it makes me feel like a whale, I can tell you that!

My hair is also falling out in clumps. It's so gross. Is it normal?

I'm not as far along as you yet, but I have struggled with accepting how my body looks. I am a very self conscious person and before pregnancy, I was a freak about my weight and keeping it maintained. Now, I have a bump and it feels like my belly is HUGE. I get comments all the time, some say that I look thin for being as far as I am and others are like whoa.... you got twins in there?? I still have awhile to go and I am already looking forward to July so I can have this baby and start working on getting my body back to normal.

I think it is very normal to feel the way that you do. Some women love being pregnant and others don't like it. All in all, it will be worth it in the end, I know that it is hard to look at the bright side of things when you feel like a barn and your hormones are all over the place. My poor husband just called me today and asked if there was anything wrong with me cause I haven't been talking to him that much. I'm just starting to get to the point where it's hard to move in certain directions and do certain things, it's just frustrating. I hope you get to feeling better soon and that your spirits are lifted. Just remember, you are not alone in feeling this way.

My DH tried to help me get off the sofa last night, by pushing my butt up. This was not aprreciated. He kinda sulked and said he was just trying to help.

I know this will sound silly but when I am not expecting I see pregnant ladies & almost feel jealousy towards their rounded shape yet now I am pregnant with baby number 4 I feel very differently. Having not lost all my weight from my previous pregnancies or ever regained the muscle tone I once had I can sympathise completely with the feelings you have about being uncomfortable. I have 9 weeks plus a few days to go but might have gone mad by then! Chin up though as I can promise when you hold your baby in your arms it will all be worth it!!!

LMAO... oh lord, pregnancy is just such a comical thing, I suppose we need to laugh at ourselves sometimes, and forget the fact we feel like beached whales.
