If ur working u wont get income support as ur still classed as employed.

i didnt no about this spp, and its to late now for my oh to inform employers

if u get working families tax credit, that will increase while the wages go down, so thats sumthing.

The pay is pants. Its a massive drop for us too when my partner takes it however, we are really lucky in the fact he works in the building trade and gets the Christmas period off. I am due the week of the 6th Dec, I will probably go over so he can take a week off SPP.Then he will be off from the 18th December until the 4th January so we are really lucky. We will have a week over christmas at my family and then still have 2 weeks together on our own.

Here in Canada we get 36 weeks of "parental leave" and either spouse can take it, share it or split it up. You will recieve 55% of your income but caps out at some amount and some employers have parental top up plans.
On top of those 36 weeks moms get 17 weeks of maternity leave that we can take while we are pregnant or just after babes is born.
