Don't worry aboutt he not engaged part hun, my LO was 2/5 at 37 weeks 4/5 at 38 and the next day was 2/5 again so they CAN move in and out, try not to worry. I think you shoudl probably make an appointment with your MW just to put your mind at rest. I went to see the GP last week about my legs and he had a good feel but was very honest and said that doctors these days have so little to do with prenatal care that they aren't as clued up as tey should be, I was lucky though because his wife had a baby about 2 months ago and he knew what he was talking about!!!

My surgery do shared care with the midwifes too but luckily I have only had to have one appointment with a GP. My midwife did tell me which ones were ok and which ones weren't but I had to fit my 22 wk appointment in around work so ended up seeing this guy who obviously didn't have a clue. He even tried to listen to me with a pinnard!

I'm glad you're getting another appointment sorted. I think it's understandable that GP's aren't used to managing healthy pregnancy as most antenatal care is done by midwifes but I reckon they should be honest if they don't know what their doing or recception should have a list of GPs who are happy to do antenatals and those who aren't.
