Hi May Mummies, when did you or are going to leave work to go onto maternity leave?
I'm starting my leave on 01/04/2008, so not long left at work now for me I wished I could have hung on for a little longer but I just cant !!
Hows everyone feeling, I'm starting to feel it now, getting lots of pressure down low, lots of back pain and my bump is feeling very heavy and uncomfortable..
Over all I am good. I have been having pelvic pain and pressure as my LO is low low low. I have ordered a maternity belt, and it should be here today, so I am hoping that will help lift my bump up enough to give me some relief. I am now just ready to get on with it, and have this baby! I am still waiting on my nursery furniture though. Some day it will come.
I'm feeling just really tired... We don't have maternity leave at work.. we have short term disability which I can start whenever I want.. atleast I think so... but Not sure when??? Maybe early May?? We'll see how I feel...
But I def. think 8 hours a day for a full time job right now is a little much... I will eventually talk to my boss about cutting my hours... I'm a little nervous to talk to him though cause I'm not sure what he'll say!!! But I have to do what I have to do! Right?
I would definitely talk to him! Especially since you don't plan on going back you might as well take care of yourself.
But work doesnt know Im not coming back.. I'm waiting to tell them at such last minute!! in case they decide to dock my pay or whatever.. I was going to tell them when I have 2 weeks of short term disability left this way that gives them 2 weeks to find someone else!

Not going on maternity leave until I have to (for complications or whatever) or until I go into labor .
Yay for you on your upcoming leave! Congrats!
Starting to move like a land mammal that spends most of it's time in the water (ie hippo, water buffalo, etc.) I've been trying very hard not to waddle, but on Saturday's when I've done a lot of housework or 'nesting', or after grocery shopping I tend to get a bit of one.
DH had to help me out of the couch the other night for the first time.
My right leg has serious varicose veins and I've started getting a pretty hefty cankle there every night.
Because of the above mentioned water retention in my right cankle, every night is a pee-fest. Was up every two hours to pee a thimble-full.
I'm exhausted in the afternoon, and ready to hit the bed at 9pm or so, but once I get that first 3 good hours of sleep, I can pretty much guarantee I'm gonna see every hour from then on.
But-
I can really feel baby move now which is heavenly
I'm only weeks (not months and months) away from getting to know my daughter
I don't have to worry about doing the mama thing alone like last time, I have a loving caring husband who I adore
I have a sweet and kind 12 year old daughter that is EXCITED about her baby sister and can't wait to see her
Both families are excited about the new grandchild/neice and are supportive and congratulatory
I have had a normal uncomplicated pregnancy so far, and the baby is deemed completely normal and healthy
I actually quite enjoy being pregnant for as much as I want my body back by the end of it
I'm very tired of being so pregnant 34 weeks is doing a number on my back. Plus I don't really remember what sleep is. On a good note at least it means I'm that much closer until my little guys arrives!
Hey girls and welcome Lisa-Marie. Sorry to hear so many of you are suffering from pelvis, hip, back pain etc... I know how you feel. I went to the physio on Tuesday which was a great help. She has given me a tubigrip to support my bump and has showed me some exercises.
Apart from the above though (oh and sleepless nights, GBS, feeling tired etc, etc – ), I’m actually enjoying pregnancy very much. I love my bump and think pregnancy is such an amazing thing.
I’m still working full time, but will be going on maternity leave at 35 weeks Not long now!
One last thing I wanted to ask is how low down do you feel baby? Last night I felt LO sooo low. I don’t want to be too graphic, but literally 2 fingers above my 'area'.
Thanks x
