I'm planning on birthing in a local (30 min away) hospital birthing center. I'm having the same OB that delivered my first DD deliver this one too as I had some complications with the first, and wanted the same doc if something should happen with this one. (pre-eclampsia). It's a lovely center, they practice more modern birthing techniques (letting a woman determine the best way to have her baby). They have whirlpools in every room, birthing balls, squatting bars, and all the nurses essentially act as doulas.

I'm having a hospital birth. I have Group B Strep so have no choice I would have liked a home birth or to have given birth in a birthing centre with a pool etc, but it's solely midwife run - no doctors.
I'm glad there's a little May group. We'll be able to keep each other company right up to the birth (especially whilst we're on Maternity leave). I finish work in April and will be on Maternity leave until January 2009
