Big baby - NERVOUS!

So i had a growth scan done last week cause MW thought he was measuring big, turns out he is bigger than average and is already about 8"11
Im really scared!
I'm only tiny!
I dunno if its selfish of me too be so scared about the birth cause i know im going to have a beautiful baby boy at the end of it, but i cant help myself worrying about the labour

x

How far gone are you?

remember the scans are just estimates & can be very wrong at times

My LO is also measuring big

Im only 5ft 1

Its not selfish to be scared of the birth at all

Yep - the girls are right - there is a 15% margin of error which is a lot! My SIL was told she was having a baby of over 10lbs - granted he was over 9lbs but a 1lb out is a lot!

I wouldn't give to much thought to the weight of baby when your so far on really coz they are not accurate enough.

With my 1st all the way through i was told he would be tiny, bordering 5lb at full term & " may " need help when born , He was born at 39wks weighing 7lb 4oz so where on earth they got such a difference in weight is unreal. I've been told so far baby seems " fine " but i have a lot of fluid around him so he maybe small Wish they'd make up their minds i really do x

Following on from the other comments, it is so hard to tell a babys weight from a scan. Its is only an estimation. I watched a programme about big babies and the way a consultant said was that it is no more accurate than doing a scan on a person in a bath in the next room with pjs on.

Don't fret and remember there are always drugs to make it easier if you choose that!!!!!!
