Peeing in a tray!!

lol! last night when i went to the hospital the midwife asked for a urine sample and gave me a cardboard tray!

I was totally confused, as was my husband, we were looking for the little bottle within the packeted tray but there wasnt any!

She pointed out the toilet and then my husband finally said "you want her to wee in that?!"

Very patronisingly she said "urm yes"

So off i went and peed in this tray......

5 hours later, laying in bed it FINALLY clicked why she gave me a tray!!

its quite awkward at this stage to see my feet let alone aim into a little bottle correctly!
Genius eh!!

they really do think of everything!

my surgery give you the plastic bottle thingy and a disposable plastic cup - so that you can pee in the cup and pour it into the bottle! I really liked that, thinking how considerate it was!

When I had my son, even right up to labour they still expected you to aim into the bottle directly! (have moved area since then)

That is clever! I'm still aiming in a bottle, and the last time I tried it, it didn't end well... I wish I'd been given a trasfer cup/tray...

awwwk they really do think of everything now! When i forgot to bring a urine sample to the hospital they gave me a little tin foil tray!Genius! though...the toilet was at the end of the corridor and you should have seen the concentration on my face trying to walk the whole way back without spilling it the whole waiting area was watching me!

At our hospital they even have a nifty transfer hatch to the sluice room for the MW to take the sample dish off you

I had to pee into a tray in hosp the other night - was well awkward - couldn't work out how to pull the tray away if it overflowed and it was weird as I had to sit on my arm to pee in it

My hospital gives you a little cardboard tray, a bit like an egg carton, and I'm always paranoid about spilling it everywhere on my way back from the toilet! My doctors surgery gives you a little bottle that looks like a test tube and I miss every time!

At our hospital they are cardbord trays that actually fit in the toilet so you don't even have to hold it

We're just made to pee directly onto the test strip. This caused great confusion the first time I was told to do a pee test and went into the loo looking for a cup.

When they have to send off a sample, then they give you a nice deep plastic tray with a wide handle to hold onto it and a spout on the other end to pour it into the jar.

The cardboard tray has been around in hospitals for years they ain't something new, Not just for pregnancy either. Its usually hospital reception desks & doctors that give plastic bottles, hospitals have the cardboard ones in the toilets.
