Question

could i have sum advice please :) transverse?

Well i think my LO is transverse because when she moves its either side of my stomach at the same time (s ive just witnessed) and i dont feel ANYTHING near my ribs etc... could anyone tell me how i find out if she is and will she turn in time for the birth? also if she doesn't turn what happens?
thanks xx

They don't start to consider babys position too much until about 37 weeks, and even then they hope that the baby will turn of its own accord (more so if you have a baby which has taken to several positions along the way)

The delivery outcome for a baby who isn't head down is down to alot of things I think, whether they think/you feel it would be helpful to try turning the baby externally - or whether there are other factors which would lead to a c-section etc being more preferable.

At the moment it is probably one of those 'wait and see' things - but I've not been in the situation myself, I'm sure someone who has will give you the benefit of their experience though

You've got loads of time to turn the baby and they won't really consider the position of the baby for a while anyway, but my MW told me that the best thing to do was to sit on a dining chair with it the wrong way round and lean on the back of the chair so that your stomach is like a hammock for LO!! Or sit on your birthing ball and lean forward.

I know how you feel as nowadays all I do is bounce around on this ball or try and get up and wriggle my hips or get on all fours for a bit. My baby also just seems to kick and punch on either sid eof me so unless she's doing star jumps she seems transverse. I suppose it's because i'm always lying on my side? dunno though.

Went to my osteo today about my back and asked her about osteos being able to turn babies and she said only if its because they got stuck I asked what she meant and she said sometimes there are clinical reasons like cysts and obstructions or your pelvis can be wrong or something in which case the osteo can do nothing, but if baby was breech and then she got stuck because she didn't have enough room they can usually help.

but all that's quite extreme. I think bet option is to get wriggling and get on all fours while boogalu still has room to move!

Being on all fours is a little tiring so i either try and get on my knees and just lean forward on the seat of a chair OR I try and get kneeling and lean on a beanbag which is actually quite a cosy way to read.
