Personally i would never try castor oil for labour inducing, it can make you ill & is NOT actually healthy or safe for you or baby! Stressing baby, giving you the shits, it can make you violently sick etc sorry but that's not a risk i'm willing to take with myself or baby.

If it comes really close to my induction date I will probably try castor oil first - I'd rather have castor oil than pitocin / synthetic hormone drip which apparently can really affect labour.

My auntie tried it years ago to get my cousin out... and although it did work the midwifes told her off for taking a risk... so i guess they wernt a fan of it either. Apparently when you take it the baby comes out clean of gunk, thats how the midwifes new shed taken it heehee

My mom used castor oil when she was pregnant with my sister, and she would NOT recommend it. It gave her diarrhea(which supposedly is why it puts you into labor) and then she ended up being in the first stage of labor for 22 hours. Also her cervix did not dilate completely-it was in a cone shape. I don't know if the 22 hour labor or the cone shaped cervix is due to the castor oil but she thinks it is.

Of course, she also had a cute little heart attack when she found out I've been taking baths, so who knows.

Please DO NOT TRY THIS. Its dangerous. It can lead to baby becoming distressed and leaking meconium which can be fatal if ur sat at home waiting for contractions to begin

Having the runs is miserable enough but with a huge bump?? Good lord no!!!! The suggestion of a couple of tablespoons over a morning sounds ok if you're desperate to try it but all it will really do is clean out your bowels and maybe the baby's as well!! And oily poo won't flush either!
I'd avoid it like the plague - I'm starting to get uncomfortable at 32 weeks and having the morning sickness back is bad enough, the runs as well???? Doesn't bear thinking about!
And I think it's true, sex and so on might speed things up but only if things are pretty much ready to go!

Well guys, I've a big change in how I'm feeling tonight, feel completely uncomfortable like I never have before and movements have all but stopped aside from the odd flutter to let me know it's still there, I don't want to get too excited, but really hope tonight is the night!!!
