Is anyone buying/bought books for labour and the first year?

I have read my pregnancy books so much, they have been like bibles. I was thinking about getting some books on labour and the baby's first year, but are books the answer? Should we be trusting our instincts? If anyone has bought any books, any recommendations?

I bought Ina May Gaskin's Guide to Childbirth on the recommendation of the Women's Health physio at my hubby's hospital. It arrived yesterday & at first glance seems like it's gonna be hard going!

I was just looking at that on amazon. I have opted for a hardcover general book for the first 2 years, to use as a reference book. I have a preggy sis in law due to drop any day now so have also bought her a copy. So when I have a few spare pounds I will look at a birth book. Please let me know what this book is like when you have started having a read.
