After 2 weeks of reduced movement, the baby is going nuts!

There have been a few threads which I have been following recently about the baby's movement getting less and less, with different theories, but we have all been getting concerned (especially us first time mummy's).
I was feeling movements from about 19 weeks and by 24 weeks my husband started feeling them, and at my 25 week appt with midwife we were laughing because the baby kept kicking the heart monitor. But all of a sudden my strong kicks turned to mild movements and gentle thuds, as if it was further towards my back so I couldnt feel them as much. This has gone on for 2 weeks, but...
Last night when I was resting after work, the baby started going crazy! My tummy would go bang bang bang really quick (if that makes sense) and literally take my breath away! I was giggling all night and when I went to bed it just got worse. I woke up loads in the night, it felt like it was having a party in there!
Bit of a pointless thread but I wanted to share my joy with the world, its the best feeling ever!

my little ones movements have changed, instead of thuds i get pushes obviously because she's getting bigger i think.

Know your relief
best feeling ever isnt it

My little man was Hyper 24/7 right up until 22wks
then movements started decreasing and feeling alot less
big strong kicks turned into nudges and pushing and flicks

so last tue 24+5 i got extra worried..
so called hosp and was told to come into labour ward
they know my history (stillbirth @42wks and mmc & mc)
They put doppler on me and heartbeat seemed fine
so they done CTG to monitor moves and trace the heart
&& Baby was non stop kicking and moving the whole Night
once that CTG machine went on
consultant was happy enough and give me all the possiblites as to why baby would be quiet
,even the next day he was keeping me reassured..

since again
hes gone back into Lazy mode, feeling the light nudges and thuds
and the flicking feeling and deffo feeling more pressure on my back
Just cant wait Until he goes back into Crazy baby again

xx

Wow MissDior you've been through an awful lot, no wonder you love the movements so much!
I have actually cried with joy a few times at the relief of feeling the movements. I was just telling my husband that I am tired today as the baby kept me awake quite a bit in the night but I dont care, its worth it. The slowing down is really common, I have been reading it on here loads the past few days.
Hope you get a mad burst again soon, let me know

Hi

I think it is really common (from reading other posts) and from my own experience...

I think that around that "mid 20 weeks" mark things are changing quite a lot:
- baby is doing quite a lot of growing (and putting most of his/her energy into that).
- due to that growth (and less space around baby), we start maybe feeling more "movements" (nudges, pushes etc) and less "big swing up kicks/punches".
- possibly we are becoming more aclimatised to the movement: we can still feel it (and even subtle movements), BUT we (or at least I) don't start/shock so much when I get kicked. It used to feel like a muscle spasm or even mild electric shock, now it feels a lot more natural.

I still have some days more quiet than others, but I know he is there and well (regularly!)

My baby seems to have quiet days on Sundays/Mondays, when I hardly feel her move! Its always been like that. Her most active days seems to be Wednesdays, which is my busiest day at work and I wonder if thats related.

Sometimes I don't feel her on the inside but if my OH and I put our hands on my belly we can feel limbs slithering by! Also at the 20 week scan and the 29 week babybond scan we had, I could see her moving but couldn't always feel it!

I wish I could feel her move on the inside all the time!

When they used to get women to count ten movements, does anyone know if that meant ten separate bouts of movements. Sometimes you get about 10 kicks in one go but I guess thats not what they meant.

Hi
Thanks for your reply
lol am so cheeky this isnt even my thread

-deffo described what my lil man is upto movements big stong kicks and that ave become more gentle and Nudge like /thuds etc...
-Feeling alot more Low Low down like Flicks/pokes have replaced the big sudden boots and more towards my Bum now which is werid sensations down in them regions lol
-But Every movement no matter how big or small to me is a welcome releif
i do have more quiet days than active days at the Mo, but i feel enuf everyday to be reassured he may be quiet more hours of the day then active but he seems happy enough in there
- and consultant seems happy enough anyhow, but is keeping an eye on me
- think some of us have lazier babies than others

xx
