Question

A very strange feeling.

For about a week every now & then I feel a pressure on my breast bone or under my ribs at about the same level as my breast bone. It does help sometimes if I adjust my possition but I was wondering, could it be baby sticking something up there or is it probably just my organs being pushed up? It feels really strange and tight but I find it odd if it's my organs why it's only in one place or on one side and then it goes again after a while.

I'm 29 weeks, so surley my uterus also shouldn't be so high that baby can reach up to my breast bone already?

It sounds like the baby's position is causing the problem. If its really worrying you, you could mention it to your doctor on your next visit.

I had pressure like that and it was from the baby being curled up against my ribs, the little rotter wouldn't move for weeks at a time

That is indeed baby.

My LO was wedged DIAGONALLY from my left hip bone to my ribcage under my armpit last evening. VERY uncomfortable.

I shifted positions often and finally did the old 'get on all fours and rock your hips' trick... that seemed to make her want to shift out of the wonky position for a little while.

Remember your uterus is flexible too, so even though it's normal position is still a little lower than your xyphoid process (the very end of your breast bone), baby can move and stretch the uterus

I think my baby is in a similar possition because I keep feeling movement down by my hip and a bit of movement by my ribs.

Arg, she's working herself back in that position again now...

I dread to think if this is going to be a favorite spot for her.

She's under 2 pounds now... My god what is this gonna feel like when she'd 5 or 6!

My first was a calm, serene, almost lazy baby in utero... this is very new to me!

I've had something like this today! It's really uncomfortable to say the least, in fact, it HURTS! Baby seems quite comfy, though because she's refusing to move except for to give her foot a shove in the upwards direction and make the pressure on my ribs worse! ... maybe she's trying to push off my ribs and out?? lol

Yeah, it happens... and it can hurt. I just shift into a different position if I'm lying down, and poke him until he starts moving about.
