Cervical Scraping

I had a doc appt this morning and to try and help bring on contractions he scraped my cervix. Yes it was painful but i took it like a trooper! The appt was at nine this morning and nothing yet!! I have done my research and know that it only generally works %50 of the time and generally happens within the first 48 hrs, so here's hoping. Anyone else have this done? If so what was your experience?

Well... no such luck. I do not know why he did it when he did it. I guess he just felt it was the right time.

My midwife isn't against it at all, but she didn't seem to have much faith in it. She's very much of the mind that these things only *help* when you/LO are *ready*

She said she'd do it after a week or so overdue 'if you really wanted' - I wasn't asking though, so her lack of enthusiasm was kinda funny
