Pelvic Pain?

I know there have been a few discussions about pelvic pain but it seemed like most of the people experiencing it were still pretty early...So i thought i would ask everyone if they have had this in previous pregnancies or if they are experiencing now...

I have been having a LOT of pelvic pain lately and i'm wondering if it's something that is happening because his head is engaged?

The pelvic pain i'm experiencing is towards the front of my pelvic bone as well as on my tailbone to the point that i dread going from sitting to standing. My OH thinks i'm insane because i keep asking him to massage my butt/very low back.

Also when moving from any position i've been in for a while to another position my pelvis will make a loud popping/cracking noise... i have seriously wondered whether my babies head is ever going to be a normal roundness because of the constant rubbing!

Aww hon, it sounds like SPD if its cracking and clicking. Have you brought it up with your MW? It could also be from the babies head engaging, it was really uncomfortable when it happened to me and still is. Hope it goes away for you soon

Thank you... It just started not too long ago so i really wasn't sure.
I have a DR appointment tomorrow morning and i'm going to bring it up to her, i'm not sure if they will do anything or not considering i'm so close to my due date.

It's just a bit worrisome... i know my OH was freaked out after helping me off the couch and hearing me pop really loud... he actually asked if my water broke. It was kinda funny to see his face

I will have to do some research on SPD... does it go away after you deliver?

I am the same right now! I was just about to post about it too!
Mine is hurting in the front of my pelvis. None towards my back though.
It hurts when I get up or like when I am laying in bed and I go to roll from one side to the other and my legs are wide open it really hurts then. I have to keep my legs together and roll myself at the same time so that it wont hurt as bad.

i'm really glad i'm not the only one... maybe it is just because we are getting so close to delivery. All i know is that i'm sitting at work and i'm in a lot of pain and very tired of sitting at this desk, i need to go home and put my feet up!

i'll let you know what my DR says tomorrow.

I've got SPD too, written about it already in a couple of posts so I'll just let you guys find out for yourselves...

One good thing though - it makes 2nd stage of labour easy because you have more room in your pelvis for baby's head and body to pass through

Thought I'd better edit this just to add that lying on your back with your legs spread wide will NOT make labour any easier - lying on your back is the worst position anyway (but it's great for the dr's to have a good look!). On your knees, or on hands and knees are the best positions for a SPD sufferer in labour.

I am suffering from the same thing, even though my MW doesn't seem to think there is a problem. But damn! it hurts!!!!

I can barely move my left leg now
Forget rolling over in bed, even with my legs closed. Its horrible
I get a lot of pain in the front of my pelvis, not the back, though. And it pops too!!!!

Hopefully I last through these last 5 weeks

Yer all it sounds like you all have spd i've had it from day one with this one and all the do is send u to pysico if you not to far along, but saying most of you are nearly due now they wouldn't do anything, but it is a good thing to mention to the midwife so they don't put your feet in sterips (SP?) thats the worse thing they can do.

I had it for two weeks with my first daughter purley for the fact i was in slow labour with her for two weeks and it was because her head was engaged.

It doesn't go straight away it can take a couple of weeks to heal maybe a bit more it depends how bad it gets/got before you had/have the baby. Mine is going to take a good couple of months to get better saying how long i've had it.

All i can suggest to make you feel a bit better is take parcetamol or try getting some co codmal from drs, i love having baths at the moment you don't feel the discomfort umm using an excersise ball helps as well take the pessure of your pelvis and it also helps moves the babys head down, try putting a pillow inbetween your legs, under your bum or just under your legs anyway that makes you feel better, i found that putting a pillow under my legs helps me alot.

Hope this helps girls, i know it does hurt like hell.

I went to the DR today and they don't seem to think there is a problem and completely brushed it off as normal pelvic pressure. I guess i'm going to have to just rough it out for the next few weeks and hope that it goes away once Neo comes.
