Reduced Fetal Movement

I wasn't feeling well today and at 7pm I started doing a kick count. I drank to large glasses of ice water, and I ate dinner...he's only kicked 8 times and it is now 9:20pm...

I read that I should drink a glass of cold juice and lay on my left side and he should kick 10 times in 30 minutes...the problem with that is I have gestational diabetes and CAN'T drink juice....any suggestions?

Hi there.. .I don't know if this helps or not but I was told baby needs to kick 4 times in 1 hour. 10 times in 30 minutes seems to be a whole lot. Then again it could be the hospital I'm in. (I'm hospitalized on bed rest.)

I'm not sure what to tell you about the juice, they always force feed me juice in the morning because my baby doesn't like to move a lot then. Usually eating a good meal does it for some people. But I'm not sure!

Thanks I called my nurse line and they didn't know what to tell me considering that they are taught to have us do the juice thing and they weren't sure if they should have me drink juice as my blood sugar skyrockets to the 260s if I drink it...so they paged the doctor on call and he'll decide if i have to go in or not....

I haven't had to go to the hospital yet so I'm a bit freaked

Ive read its 10 times in 2 hrs but who knows either way ice cold water does the trick pretty well for me but if you are really worried go to the hospital its better to be overly concerned than something be wrong hope you get to feeling better

wow - 10 times in 30 min is alot - there are sooo many 30-min periods that my LO doesn't move that much for - and bubs moves on/off all day. But they usually have cycles of awake/asleep by now and will go quiet for some time.
xx

Try making your hands REALLY cold (by holding ice in them for a bit), then put them on your belly on the side where you can tell LO is laying. My lil one doesn't like that at all and quickly changes positions. Good luck.
