hi,
i have just joined this forum today,as i was looking for any other mums to be that have had the swine flu vaccine -pandemrix.As i had the jab on wednesday, and was just looking for some reasurance as to side affects. And not to feel like i am the only pregnant woman that has had it,as i was the first woman at my doctors to get it and do not know any other pregnant women at the moment. The only side effect i have experienced is a sore arm.I am 26 weeks pregnant and my baby has still been as active as before.Although to be honest i am still worried about the effects it might have on my baby as it works its way through my system.but then again i am a born worrier!

i had it tonight, im glad i did as the doc told me the less weeks u have to go the more chance of dying u have, not the best way to put it but straight to the point, I have 3 other kids that i need to think about if i get unwell with it, plus the injection u get is in ur muscle, u provide antibodies which is passed on to baby, there is mercury in the jag but a very low dose, when u are pregnant u dont need 2 jags its only one u get,

they say it is smillar to the flu jag and that is doesnt cause any harm to baby or urself as it a dead vaccine,

it is up to everyone and a personal choice but for me i have done the right thing for me and my family xxx

i'm not having it, i have no confidence in its safety and something inside me just does not trust it at all. i have read as much information as i possibly can, and i feel i have made an informed choice. i know its fact that pregnant women are more at risk- but there are no 'facts' of the consequences of this vaccine and to me thats a bigger risk. we are all trying to make the best decisions for ourselves and our lo's & its not easy its stressful! hugs to all xxx

This is a health alert from Dr. Russell Blaylock concerning swine flu. I've
attached a bio on his professional credentials.
--- On Fri, 7/24/09, Russell Blaylock wrote:

"No one should take the swine flu vaccine-it is one of the most dangerous vaccines ever devised. It contains an immune adjuvant called squalene (MF-59) which has been shown to cause severe autoimmune disorders such as MS, rheumatoid arthritis and Lupus. This is the vaccine adjuvant that is strongly linked to the Gulf War syndrome, which killed over 10,000 soldiers and caused a 200% increase in the fatal disease ALS (Lou Gehreg disease).
His claims about the link between squalene (which our bodies actually produce naturally anyway) and Gulf War syndrome are untrue as there is no proven link at all.

Seems like he's scaremongering a bit, I wonder what his agenda is seeing as his opinions seem contrary to most other doctors. His website is not very easy to read but it wouldn't surprise me if he was somehow profiting from the sale of one or more of the supplements he recommends. I'm personally always a bit wary of people like this. (Oh, found it: he's selling some "Brain Repair Formula" at just under $US100 every 30 days . I wonder if he'll develop a special Swine Flu Immunity Boost pill very soon...)

I'm having the vaccination in a couple of weeks. Doing anything like this when you're pregnant is scary of course, but I think my chances of getting swine flu are higher than my risks of anything bad happening from the vaccination.
I was thinking more about this last night, and it annoys me that this guy is so confident to assert that 'NO-ONE should have it' - I mean the doctors and scientists in favour of it are saying, 'sure there are small risks but major benefits', and yet this guy is not even admitting that there could actually be some benefit from this vaccine? 'One of the most dangerous ever devised' -? What is he basing that statement on?

People (5000 according to the World Health Organisation) have died already from this virus, and it is arguable that at least some of those deaths could have been prevented had there been a vaccine available earlier. If as he suggests, nobody at all gets vaccinated, how many will die? Is that what he wants, because that's what it sounds like.

It's just difficult for us to make informed decisions about whether to vaccinate ourselves or not when there are people like this guy quoting false data to support their arguments.
At first I decided I wasn't going to have it because I was scared of possible side effects, on me or my baby, but now I'm way more scared of getting the actual flu, so I'm definitely having it.

Ultimately of course it's your own choice, but please do lots of research for yourself from both sides. I hope none of us get sick, whether we're vaccinated or not.
