Or could it be that a pregnant woman is 10 times more likely to be admitted to hospital "just in case"?

My MIL is a MW and has turned the jab down due to the lack of testing and the entire A&E department at her hospital have turned it down. I think it says a lot when medical professionals on the front line at risk of contracting swine flu are turning down the jab...
I am a medical professional! The information regarding the need for intensive care input is from the Department of Health.

I won't be having it, personal choice but I'm just not comfortable with it.

It's such a dilema, i have a c-section in just over 4 weeks and was just hoping that taking my kids out of school for a few weeks and lying low would be enough but a pregnant lady died of SF in salford last week and my ob at the Liverpool women's hospital has a pregnant patient on a ventilator with SF right now. He was totally against the vaccination before this but isn't so sure now.

I work in an immunology laboratory and so on the whole, I have a fairly good idea how vaccines such as this work etc. If I'm offered it then I'll have it as I believe that the risks associated with contracting swine flu could be far greater than any potential risk from the vaccine itself. I use public transport daily and I work on a hospital site, so I feel that I'm at risk of getting it. There have been several people in my lab who have been off with flu recently too, which is quite worrying!

This is a health alert from Dr. Russell Blaylock concerning swine flu. I've
attached a bio on his professional credentials.

His claims about the link between squalene (which our bodies actually produce naturally anyway) and Gulf War syndrome are untrue as there is no proven link at all.

Seems like he's scaremongering a bit, I wonder what his agenda is seeing as his opinions seem contrary to most other doctors. His website is not very easy to read but it wouldn't surprise me if he was somehow profiting from the sale of one or more of the supplements he recommends. I'm personally always a bit wary of people like this. (Oh, found it: he's selling some "Brain Repair Formula" at just under $US100 every 30 days . I wonder if he'll develop a special Swine Flu Immunity Boost pill very soon...)

I'm having the vaccination in a couple of weeks. Doing anything like this when you're pregnant is scary of course, but I think my chances of getting swine flu are higher than my risks of anything bad happening from the vaccination.

That's the type of thing I was referring to. Blaylock is a renowned self-publicist. He is not afraid to imply profiteering on the part of Novartis (manufacturer of the vaccine), but BRAIN REPAIR FORMULA??

Nurse from my docs is just off the phone.

I can have the swine flu jab straight after my midwife appt at 11.30am tomorrow- I said OK- but am still not sure.

My mum said straight away no, my head is telling me yes, surely a vaccine is a good thing - and particularly as I am a high-school teacher and teach around 120 kids a day.........oh no!!

I am leaning more to getting it rather than not at the moment.

I had it over a week ago and all has been fine so far. Of course I'm (a little) worried about potential side effects on my baby, but I was even more worried about her catching it when she's born. Since she can't have any vaccine, then my husband and myself getting one is the best we can do to protect her. I don't have any regrets over having it.
