I had my purse stolen from my bag on saturday I was so upset i didnt have any money in it but my drivers licence and my debit card. Bascially I was in the supermarket and there were these gypsies there and one of them tried to talk to me and distract me while the gypsy women got behide me and must of took my purse then, i should of realise really but i was so tired and felt so doopy that day. i am so angry and mad and pissed off about my licence and hope they dont do fraud on it.

I guess you have reported it to the police, is there anything they can do about it?

No nothing they just gave me a crime ref number, I need to pay for another driving licence once I get my new debit card through.

me too I am so worried about that but the police women I was speaking to said I should joined this site cifas.org.uk it prevents people using your idenfication to do things and get things under your name. Everytime someone trys to they have to call you and ask you and you have to give a password think its only £10 to join so im defo do that. Dont want people trying to get credit cards etc in my name.

i'm so sorry hun, how horrible! I remember while i was shopping over Christmas Time, i had my purse in the cart and, although i was watching it the whole time, a kind gentleman stopped and chatted with me that i should physically hold on to my purse at all times while shopping. He told me a story that was pretty much a replica of yours, how a couple of people distracted his wife for just 10 seconds and she turned around and her purse was gone. Now i never let it go when i am out.

I'd imagine some people are more crafty though and can probably take your wallet out of your pocket if they wanted! It's so hard to trust people when you are out and about.
