My baby was Transverse and I was booked for an ECV, in the end I changed my mind and during that week she then turned completely breech. I had my C-section on Tuesday and I have to say it wasn't as bad as I had expected it to be. I was up and walking within 10 hours of leaving theatre and got home yesterday.

If you decide not to have the ECV and your baby doesn't turn head down then I have to say that my experience of having a c-section wasn't bad so I wouldn't be too disappointed if you had to go that route.

Were they ok with you changing your mind ? I dont want lots of grief for changing my mind, but i really didnt agree to it in 1st place ! I wont be too disappointed if i have to have a section... Ive known for a few wks now that i might need a section and aslong as he gets here safe and healthy i dont mind

They were fine about it. You are entitled to refuse any procedure if you aren't comfortable with it. They are not allowed to give you any grief, it is your choice what you do with your body and your baby.

There is a 50-60% chance that they will be able to turn the baby. But there is no guarantee that the baby wont turn back again so that is another factor to remember.

If you want to discuss the section then please feel free to PM me. I found it a positive experience and am happy to explain what happened with me if it helps you relax on the day.

ah man, that sucks, just call them back up and tell them that you don't want to be rebooked, it's not a matter of needing more time to think about it, but that you DON'T want the procedure done,
Let them know you're aware of the pros and cons for both having it done and not having it done, and you've made the choice to allow baby to turn by himself, or book in for a schedulaled c-section,

I cant actually cancel the appointment for the ECV... it has to be cancelled by my consultant and its my consultant that re booked it... Its just making me really stressed and depressed now... I was quite happy to wait and let him turn himself then have section if he didnt turn... i was fine with that... im not fine with being pressured into something i dont wanna do... i really dunno what to do... Im not happy with getting an ECV but keep thinking i will let them do it to get them off my case

honestly I wouldn't.. The ECV carries risks in itself.. if something were to happen and it turned into an emergency c-section right there and then you'd never forgive yourself for not standing up and saying no to something you weren't comfortable with.
Can you speak to your consultant. even if you write down first what you want to say so that if you get flustered or upset then its there on paper to keep you on track? Let him know that you've been doing some research and are really not happy with the possible risks, its not a procedure your comfortable with, and that instead you'd like to discuss an elective c-section date or wait and see what happens and when you go into labour naturally see how he's positioned then and have a section if needed.?

You should never ever feel forced into getting a procedure you're not comfortable with just because you want them to quit hassling you, that's not what their job is at all!!

yeah i agree with Kota, you need to stand up and put your foot down if your not 100% happy with it, Emercengy c-sections are much more traumatic than elective sections, just tell him your not happy and would prefer to wait and see if baby turns himself. x
